The 2013 Speedo Far Western Long Course Championship Swim Meet hosted by West Coast Aquatics was held at Independence High School’s Frank Fiscalini Swim Center from July 31 to August 4, 2013. This competition attracted over 1800 elite age group swimmers from all over the world. It is an accomplishment to be able to swim at Far Westerns, as the Far Western qualifying times are faster than Junior Olympic Qualifying times.

Pacific Swimming's Short Course Junior Olympics Championships were held at California High School in San Ramon on March 15-17, and Alameda Island Aquatics was well represented in all age groups at this meet. It was awesome to see so many Islanders swim in the Championship Finals and Consolation Finals. Coaches Bob and Linda Radecke, and Coach Moy Cortez were definitely kept busy during the final heats!

Coach Bob Radecke's Group 3 swimmer Catherine Boles (14), has been chosen by USA Swimming to attend one of four national Zone Select Camps May 30-June 2, 2013. Catherine will attend the Western Zone camp at Arizona State University, in Tempe, AZ.
The Zone Select Camps are held annually to identify and develop top teenage talent. Many of the swimmers that USA Swimming invites to attend their Zone Select Camps go on to swim on the U.S. National Junior Team.

ISLANDER SWIMMERS MAKE NEW JUNIOR OLYMPIC QUALIFYING TIMES AT ORINDA AQUATICS' C/B/A+ MEET
Coaches Moy, Megan, and Pedro were very proud of the Islander swimmers who swam at the Orinda meet this weekend, as many of the swimmers came home with multiple new "A" times and Junior Olympic Qualifying Times. This was the last chance for swimmers to qualify for the Short Course Junior Olympics, to be held in San Ramon on March 15, 16, and 17. Read more »
