Pacific Swimming's Short Course Junior Olympics Championships were held at California High School in San Ramon on March 15-17, and Alameda Island Aquatics was well represented in all age groups at this meet. It was awesome to see so many Islanders swim in the Championship Finals and Consolation Finals. Coaches Bob and Linda Radecke, and Coach Moy Cortez were definitely kept busy during the final heats!

Coach Bob Radecke's Group 3 swimmer Catherine Boles (14), has been chosen by USA Swimming to attend one of four national Zone Select Camps May 30-June 2, 2013. Catherine will attend the Western Zone camp at Arizona State University, in Tempe, AZ.

The Zone Select Camps are held annually to identify and develop top teenage talent. Many of the swimmers that USA Swimming invites to attend their Zone Select Camps go on to swim on the U.S. National Junior Team.

28 male and 28 female athletes were selected in each of the four Zones. Read more »

ISLANDER SWIMMERS MAKE NEW JUNIOR OLYMPIC QUALIFYING TIMES AT ORINDA AQUATICS' C/B/A+ MEET

Coaches Moy, Megan, and Pedro were very proud of the Islander swimmers who swam at the Orinda meet this weekend, as many of the swimmers came home with multiple new "A" times and Junior Olympic Qualifying Times. This was the last chance for swimmers to qualify for the Short Course Junior Olympics, to be held in San Ramon on March 15, 16, and 17. Read more »

Catherine Boles wins High Point Trophy at Winter Junior Olympics

17 Islander swimmers qualified to compete at Pacific Swimming's Winter Junior Olympics, held this past weekend in Morgan Hill, CA. These 17 swimmers, along with Head Coach Bob Radecke and Coach Moy Cortez braved the endless rain and winds, and came home with some incredible swims under their belts!

Leading the Islanders was 14-year-old Catherine Boles, whose swims resulted in her winning the High Point Trophy in the 13-14 Girls Division. Catherine placed in the following (8) events: Read more »

Pacific Swimming just released their end of year TOP TIMES REPORTS (listing the top 25 times in Pacific Swimming for each event in each age group, in both short course and long course) for the 2011-2012 swim season, and TEN ISLANDER SWIMMERS (5 Girls and 5 Boys) can be found on those lists! The ten swimmers, and the number of events that they made the Top 25 times in are:

The final four Championship Meets of the 2011-2012 swim season saw Islanders Catherine Boles and Arron Clavin posting new records to cap off yet another amazing consecutive year for Islander swimming.
